MOMS Club Frequently Asked Questions:

Question:  I just joined. What happens next?
Answer: Welcome! The first thing to do is look over our events calendar, and see which event you want to attend first. You'll RSVP on the Facebook event.  Let us know which event you plan to attend, and we'll make sure to let a member attending know. This way, you can be in touch with her so that you know who to look for.

Question: Can my children really come to everything with me?
Answer: Yes, you can bring your children to everything except for Moms' Night Out (nursing infants are always welcome).

Question:  How much will the MOMS Club cost me?
Answer:  You do not need to spend any money besides your annual dues of $25, unless you choose to. Most events are free. Some field trips and mom’s nights out may cost additional funds, but we try to keep them reasonable. In addition, you may choose to bring snacks or a potluck dish to some events, or donate supplies to a party, and the cost of those are up to you.

Question:  What do my dues pay for?
Answer: We pay the International MOMS Club $2.50 per member each year to maintain our charter. In addition, your dues pay for other incidental expenses, supplies, stamps, etc. Since we are a non-profit group, we can spend very little on parties, etc. and thus must rely on our membership to donate the time and supplies to make our gatherings work. Our funds also go towards our annual service projects.

Question:  I have an interest that the MOMS Club doesn’t address. Whom do I talk to?
Answer:  If you have any suggestions, please call or email any executive board member. We would love to help you start a new activity group! Chances are good that if you are interested in something, another member is also.

Question:  How can I get more involved?
Answer: We rely on our members for everything, so your participation will be very appreciated. Email or message any executive board member and ask what you can help with. Form a new activity group, start a service project, Come to the Member’s meetings and share your ideas and opinions. This is YOUR club, and you will get out of it what you put into it. We are always looking for more help in hosting groups and events!

Question: When do I need to renew and whom do I pay?
Answer: Memberships are good for one year. Your renewal is due by the end of your anniversary month. You will receive a reminder email from the treasurer, or you can go online and resubmit your membership packet and dues.

Question: What Is Expected of Me When I Join?
Answer:  The only official requirements of a MOMS Club member are that you sign a liability release, abide by the behavior guidelines and code of conduct, and pay your annual dues.  We hope that you will be an active member and participate in club events on a regular basis.  We ask that you try to host at least 2 events a year- but the more hosting we have, the better our group will be! You can host at a public place too. We encourage you to attend monthly meetings when possible, and to volunteer for duties and/or activities when you can.  This can be as simple as bringing snacks to a monthly meeting, hosting an event, or signing up for one of the club’s several committees.

As a MOMS Club member you may participate in club activities as much or as little as you wish.  Attendance for all events is optional.  Your children are welcome at all MOMS Club events.  During any MOMS Club event, you are responsible for your child’s safety and actions; children displaying aggressive behavior (hitting, kicking, etc.) will be asked to leave the event.  Please see the Behavior Guidelines sheet for further information.

Question: Why Should I Attend the Monthly Meeting?
Answer: You do not have to attend the monthly meetings, but many members do.  Meetings are the best way to get the latest news, help vote on new ideas and connect with the other moms.

Question: How Do Events work? What’s Involved?
Answer: Members often hold events in their homes or backyards, or host events at local destinations.  All activities have an RSVP person that you will contact if you will be joining them.  Usually you won’t need to bring anything except you, your child, and your diaper bag.

Question: What Are the Age Requirements for Activities?
Answer: Some activities may be geared towards children of a particular age (such as crafts) but all are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Regardless of whether or not children participate in the planned activity, both moms and children will enjoy the outing and companionship.  We encourage you to come to ANY event that is convenient and not worry about whether or not your child can participate in the scheduled activity.

Question: Do I Have to Host an Activity/Event?
Answer: You do not have to host any events, though at some point many members have ideas they’d like to try.  If you would like to host something but feel your home cannot accommodate a group or is not conveniently located, you can sign up to host a park day or an outing to another local destination. Contact the Calendar Coordinator to get ideas or to suggest your own. We recommend hosting at least twice a year so that our group can stay active with a variety of options. The groups thrives the most when we have consistent activities each month. So if you like crafts- maybe you host that monthly, or host a Jogging Java while moms with babies walk with their coffees. The possibilities are endless!

Question: What is the MOMS Club® Roster for?
Answer: The roster is strictly for use of MOMS Club®.  No mass mailings, solicitation of goods or services, or promotion of religious or political groups are permitted.  Please use the roster to get together with friends on days there are no MOMS Club® activities planned.
